Outdoor School Letter / Carta de Escuela al Aire Libre

Parents/Guardians of 5th Grade Students,

As many of you are aware, Hermiston School District 5th grade students are given the opportunity each year to attend Outdoor School. Our plan for this year is to attend this program at Camp Elkanah.

While we are committed to this great learning opportunity for our students, we also must consider doing what is in the best interest of our students, particularly regarding their health and wellbeing. In light of the current situation in Umatilla County with the Covid-19 case counts, our plans for Outdoor School will be changing. We had originally planned to attend Outdoor School this Fall, but will instead be working to change the dates to the Spring.

There is more planning to be done and work to be done with Camp Elkanah around changing the timeline for our visit. Once these dates have been secured, you will be made aware of these changes by your student’s teacher. We appreciate your understanding.

Como muchos de ustedes están al tanto, los estudiantes de 5to grado del Distrito Escolar de Hermiston se les da la oportunidad cada año de asistir Escuela al Aire Libre. Nuestro plan para este año es de asistir el Campamento Elkanah.

Mientras estamos comprometidos a esta gran oportunidad de aprendizaje para nuestros estudiantes, tenemos que considerar hacer lo que es el mejor interés de nuestros estudiantes, particularmente tocante la salud y el bienestar de ellos. Considerando la situación actual en el condado de Umatilla con los casos de Covid-19, nuestros planes para la Escuela al Aire Libre estarán cambiando. Originalmente se había planificado de asistir a la Escuela al Aire Libre este otoño, pero mejor estaremos trabajando en cambiar esas fechas para la primavera.

Hay más planificación que se tiene que hacer y trabajo que se tiene que hacer con el campamento Elkanah alrededor del cambio de nuestra visita. Una vez que estos cambios estén asegurados, se le notificara sobre estos cambios por el maestro de su estudiante. Apreciamos su entendimiento.
